Community Groups first to benefit

Two Telford Anglican churches are among the first to benefit from a new community
initiative from technology consultants 3 Sheep Ltd.. St. John the Evangelist, Lawley and
St. Leonard’s, Malinslee have both been receiving advice and training on how to develop
their web presences in the consultancy’s Community Commitment programme. The Community
Commitment programme from the consultancy has been developed to help small charities and
voluntary groups access services which would normally be outside of their budgets. 3
Sheep founder and Managing Director, Stuart Smith, has been concerned that many smaller
groups with limited resources are being left behind in the technological revolution that
is affecting all our daily lives and says.

“The Community Commitment programme is all about making sure that small groups are able
to access services of a high quality to help them make the best decision about their web
presences. It can be a daunting a task for many small groups, where members are often
volunteering time and trying to make decisions that some commercial organisations spend
thousands on. 3 Sheep has developed the Community Commitment program to make sure these
groups can take part in the Internet revolution and make the right decisions about their
web presence, which is increasingly is the first point of contact for users of their
services.”

The programme has been developed by focusing on the direct needs of small organisations
rather trying to force them to fit into financial models more suited to larger or
commercial organisations. Grant Crowe, Vicar of the parishes of St. John’s and St
Leonard’s says.

“It’s really important for small organisations, like churches, to have good quality web
presences. 3 Sheep offer access to such good quality, through their expertise, training,
vision, and understanding of their field. They are a company who listen to those they
work with.  The Community Commitment programme means the Telford parishes are accessing
services which would normally be well outside our financial reach. It is well worth
checking out and having a chat with 3 Sheep to see how they can help.”

Following consultancy and training sessions St John’s and St Leonard’s have been
developing their web presences, which will be available in  the early autumn.
